What exactly is a supermom?
In this modern day and age. I often hear that we can do whatever each other can do. It’s all about our mindset. Is that reality? Can a single mom with a job, a child loose baby weight within weeks, eats healthy daily, cooks fresh and vegan daily, works out daily, have fantastic hair and skin, kill it in her career and still give her child/children all the love and care that they need?
As a Mom, we love our kids, but we also work 24 hrs. We are doing the day shift and night shift. Many of us have partners who help when they can but it’s definitely not the same. I am not speaking about the families that have it balanced. I am referring to the many families who are struggling to have some sort of balance. The moms, in these families often feel misunderstood. Imagine a mom has been attending to her kids 14 hrs. straight with 1 hour sleep in between.
As an employee, we do extra hours but still get compared to the employee who finds time after the extra hours to work in the night and on the weekends.
So many times, women all over the world face situations far more challenging than this and they seem to have mastered it excellently but often we fail to see the struggle, the cry for help, the worry, the stress, the fear in the eyes of these women. So on the one or two days where they are drained and make a mistake, we kick them like an empty can lying on the street and tear them like paper to pieces.
The life of sue isn’t the same as the life of jane. We are not capable of being
100 percent mother, wife, friend and career woman. Not every woman who have kids wants to be 100 percent 24/7, 265 consumed by being a mother. “And that’s perfectly ok!!”
We shouldn’t pressure each other into thinking that neglecting ourselves, our individuals needs and constantly putting everyone and everything before ourselves makes us a “Good mom, wife, friend, colleague, child or individual.”
We ignore our inner core and us ourselves constantly to do more, to be more, to “mutli-task” as if we are martyrs.
